China's Edward Gaming won the 2021 League of Legends World Championship by defeating South Korea's DAMWON Gaming 3-2 to claim the title on Saturday.

Edward Gaming outlasted the rest of the teams in the competition to hoist the Summoner's Cup in the 11th iteration of the world's most watched esports event.

The League of Legends World Championship is hosted by Riot Games, the developer of the game. Since 2011, with the inaugural seasonal championship in Jönköping, Sweden, the world championship final has become a worldwide phenomenon, selling out stadiums and arenas from Beijing's Beijing National Stadium to Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The competition of 22 teams is played on a 10 team single round-robin play-in stage, 16 team double round-robin group stage and 8 team single-elimination bracket.

The tournament was held from 5 October to 6 November in Reykjavík, Iceland.
