Denmark will again impose restrictions aimed at curbing the rapid spread of COVID-19 including the new Omicron variant, the country's prime minister Mette Frederiksen said on Wednesday.
Schools will switch to online learning from December 15 and nightclubs, bars and restaurants will begin closing at midnight starting on Friday.
According to health authorities, the Omicron variant has spread across Denmark after registering large outbreaks of the variant in the east and west of the country.
Denmark has registered more than 390 cases of infection with the variant first identified in South Africa.
