Tunisian Prime Minister Najla Bouden Romdhane on Thursday met with her visiting Algerian counterpart Ayman Benabderrahmane to discuss cooperation between the two countries, said a government statement.

The two sides discussed ways to consolidate their bilateral strategic ties, and the prospects for upgrading bilateral cooperation in a wide range of fields including trade, industry, investment, energy, transport, infrastructure and development of border areas.

"This visit represents an opportunity to address the reality of cooperation and work to renew it during the coming period in several fields," said Benabderrahmane, who is leading a high-level delegation to Tunisia.
