Mane, Mendy, Koulibaly named in Senegal squad for 2021 Africa Cup of Nations

Sadio Mane, Édouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly have all been included in Senegal's squad for the upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Cameroon.

The three are part of coach Aliou Cissé's side that will seek to better their performance at the continental competition, having finished as runner's up in 2019.

Cissé has retained 10 of the players that were selected for the last edition hosted by Egypt.

The West Africans will be hoping Liverpool star Mane and Watford forward Ismaila Sarr can push the team to glory in the competitions which is scheduled to kick off on January 9.

Mane has been vocal about his desire to lift the AFCON trophy, which has eluded him despite managing enviable success in the sport.

Senegal are pooled alongside Guinea, Malawi and Zimbabwe in Group B.

Hey take on Zimbabwe on January 10 for their first match of the tournament, before playing Guinea four days later and Malawi on January 18.
