Kenya has reported 1,354 new COVID-19 infections in the past 24 hours, from a sample of 5,331 raising the country's caseload to 298,509.
In a statement released on Sunday, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said the new infections take the country's positivity rate to 25.4 percent and cumulated tests conducted so far to 3,042,313.
Of the new cases, 252 are foreigners while the rest are Kenyans with the capital Nairobi still recording higher numbers than other regions country-wide.
The East African nation's COVID-19 death toll rose to 5,384 after three deaths were reported from the virus in the last 24 hours.
Total recoveries now stand at 254,115 after 400 patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, In terms of jabs, Kenya has so far administered 10,121,263 COVID-19 vaccines across the country according to the Ministry of Health latest records.
