Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said on Tuesday he was doing well despite contracting COVID-19 for a second time.
"I'm feeling pretty good," The 68-year-old said in a video message.
"Let's not be scared. Fortunately this is a variant that does not have the level of danger of the Delta variant," he added.
"What do I have? Burning in the throat, hoarseness, a little body ache at first," he said.
Obrador caught COVID-19 first in February 2021 and spent two weeks on self-isolation according to health protocols.
He has received the full regimen of the AstraZeneca vaccine, including a booster which he took on December 7.
