Mason Greenwood will not play or train with Manchester United "until further notice", the club said on Sunday after he was arrested for alleged assault.

Police said they were following up on assault accusations against the player by a woman.

Earlier on Sunday, the woman posted videos, photos and phone recordings on social media as evidence of the 20-year-old’s violent actions against her.

An initial United statement said: "We are aware of images and allegations circulating on social media. We will not make any further comment until the facts have been established. Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind."

A second statement issued by the club later in the day said: "Mason Greenwood will not return to training or play matches until further notice."
