Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel missed his side’s FA Cup game against Plymouth Argyle after he tested positive for COVID-19.

The London club announced that the 48-year-old has contracted the disease and had entered isolation as prescribed by health protocols.

"The Chelsea head coach will now follow necessary self-isolation protocols and hopes to join up with the team in Abu Dhabi later next week," a club statement said.

The manager will now miss Chelsea's flight to Abu Dhabi later on Saturday, where they are scheduled to compete at the FIFA Club World Cup.
