A top adviser to Ukraine's president says the first round of talks with Russia over its military operation in Ukraine has concluded, and more talks could happen soon.

Russian and Ukrainian officials met on Monday on the Belarusian border for talks seeking to find a solution to the crisis.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy filled application forms requesting his country's entry into the European Union, in what AP says is meant to solidify his country's bond with the West.

Zelenskyy called for an immediate EU membership in a latest video address, but said the core issues of the Russia-Ukraine talks are an immediate ceasefire and the withdrawal of Russian troops.
