Ukraine's foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba on Saturday called for greater solidarity to ensure sanctions imposed against Russia have a bigger impact.

Kuleba's comments came as more sanctions continue to pile against Russia and Russian citizens, including business persons and sports personalities.

The foreign minister also called on Russia to allow everyone, including foreign students to leave Ukraine.

He noted that the Ukrainian government would work with relevant embassies and coordinate efforts to ensure the foreign nationals obtain the necessary assistance.

Russia launched its military operation in Ukraine on February 24, a mission President Vladimir Putin said aims to protect people in the region.
