The Italian replaced legendary Jamaican Usain Bolt as the fastest man worldwide when he raced to win the 100m sprint at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Jacobs joins other stars in the race for glory, including Africa’s current fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala and American Fred Kerley.

"May 7. 100m. Nairobi Kenya. Let's goo!!," Jacobs wrote on Twitter on Sunday.

The 2022 Kip Keino Classic has already attracted many global track stars, giving fans the promise of an explosive outing on Saturday.

Other stars who have confirmed attendance include Jamaica's three-time Olympic Gold medalist Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and American sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson.

A total of 265 athletes competed at the 2021 event with the two-time World 100m winner Justin Gatlin the star attraction.
