Liverpool have shifted their focus to the UEFA Champions League final clash with Real Madrid next weekend after Manchester City beat them to the Premier League title by a point.

The Reds came from behind to beat Wolverhampton 3-1 in their final game of the season on Sunday, but that wasn't enough to earn them the title as City also rallied from behind to overcome Aston Villa 3-2.

The results mean City won the league with 93 points, one more than the Merseysiders.

But while City's season ended at the final whistle, the Reds still have one more game to play before they wrap up theirs.

"This season is absolutely incredible and will not end today, it ends next week obviously. And there we will try absolutely everything," said Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp after their win on Sunday.

"We have now five days to prepare the final, that's what we will do. We face an incredibly experienced team but that's OK, that's really OK. And of course, losing the league today increased the desire to put it right next week, it increased the desire."

The Champions League final will be a repeat of the 2017/18 final, in which Liverpool lost 3-1.

The 2021/22 final game will be played on Saturday at the Stade de France.

Ahead of the clash, Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson expressed confidence in his side's ability to pip Madrid to the trophy.

"Four days' lead into a massive game, try to make it number seven, try to win this trophy seven times with an incredible bunch of boys, with an incredible fanbase," he said.

"Go to Paris full of confidence and try to win that trophy because that would be a special season. We've got a chance to do it, we're good enough to do it. We need to perform probably better than we did today but we'll be ready. We need to perform on the highest level and if we do that hopefully we can make it number seven."
