Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is confident of his side's abilities ahead of the UEFA Champions League final clash with Liverpool
The Spanish Champions will play the Reds in Paris on Saturday for European glory, with the winner lifting the 2021/22 Champions League title.
This will be the second time in five years, having also played the 2017/18 final, which Real Madrid won 3-1.
"The team is in good shape, we all started working together as of yesterday. We have a slight issue with Marcelo, but the full squad are in top physical condition and are very excited," said Ancelotti, who appeared in the press room at Real Madrid City for the UEFA Open Media Day ahead of the final.
"We're preparing calmly for the game, focusing on what we need to do and how we want to do it. The excitement and motivation around the place are huge. We're playing the biggest game in world football and we're going to give it our all."
A win for Madrid will extend their record as the team with the most titles to 14. AC Milan, with 7 titles, is the club with second-highest number of Champions League trophies.
Liverpool will however be hoping to get their revenge for the 2018 loss.
Already, Star forward Mohamed Salah has expressed a desire to get revenge against the Spanish giants.
But Ancelotti in his presser pointed out that he is not worried about Liverpool and Salah’s motivation for revenge.
"Real Madrid also have a lost final in Paris in their history. We can find the same motivation as Salah against Liverpool. We respect him, he's a great player and will surely be a threat."
A win for Madrid will also mean Ancelotti will become the first manager to win four UEFA Champions League titles.
The 62-year-old is however not looking much into that.
"It would be a huge achievement for me, but I know anything can happen in a final. I'm not obsessed with individual honors," he said.
