Eleven people were killed and dozens wounded when their pick-up truck ran over a landmine near Syria's Daraa, AFP reported on Saturday.

Most of the victims were laborers harvesting wheat, Syria's official SANA news agency said.

Several people lost their lives in recent similar incidents in formerly rebel-held areas across Syria, while humanitarian workers called for speedier removal of explosive remnants and effective warnings to prevent such tragedy.
