The U.S. House committee investigating the January 6 attack on the Capitol on Tuesday announced that its public hearing set for Wednesday has been postponed.

According to Democratic Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren, the postponement was down to "technical issues" rather than there being an issue with witnesses.

"It's just technical issues. I mean, we were, you know, the staff putting together all the videos, it was overwhelming, so we're trying to give them a little room," she said.

Wednesday's hearing had been expected to focus on former president Donald Trump's failed attempt to replace Acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen with Justice Department lawyer Jeffrey Clark to overturn the 2020 election. Clark was more supportive of Trump's claims of electoral fraud in the 2020 U.S. presidential election.

The next hearing will take place on Thursday and will focus on Trump's efforts to pressure former vice president Mike Pence "to refuse to count certain electoral votes on January 6," according to local media.

The other three hearings set for this month have not been scheduled yet.
