Sudan's military leader, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan on Monday said the army will pull out of ongoing political talks to allow political and revolutionary groups to form a government of technocrats to lead the transitional period.
Buhran said the sovereign council will be dissolved after the formation of the new government.
The announcement comes a month after talks begun aiming to end Sudan's ongoing political deadlock.
The joint peace effort is brokered by the United Nations political mission in Sudan, the African Union, and the Intergovernmental Authority in Development (IGAD).
