Eight candidates have made it on the ballot for the Conservative Party leadership contest to replace Boris Jonhnson, the committee in charge of organizing the leadership contest said on Tuesday.

The nominated names are Rishi Sunak, Liz Truss, Kemi Badenoch, Penny Mordaunt, Suella Braverman, Jeremy Hunt, Nadhim Zahawi and Tom Tugendhat.

Sajid Javid and Rehman Chishti had also expressed a desire to contest in the vote, but announced their withdrawal before the final list of candidates was announced.

For a candidate to make it into the list, they were required to obtain a minimum of 20 nominations.

The first round of voting begins on Wednesday.
