Kenya's Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) held a voting simulation exercise on Sunday to sensitize voters on the process ahead of Tuesday's general elections.

The simulation came just a day after the end of the official campaign period, and as voting materials continue to be dispatched to stations across the country.

All four presidential candidates submitted their final calls to their supporters on Saturday in the capital, hoping to lock their support in the poll.

A total of 22,120,458 voters are eligible to vote in the elections, with the Commission having 46,233 polling stations spread across the country.

In total, 16,098 candidates have been registered to contest for the six elective seats; President, Governor, Senator, Member of Parliament, Woman Representative and Member of County Assembly.

For the election exercise, the IEBC will look to recruit 300,000 temporary poll officials to complement its permanent staff.
