King Charles III's coronation has been set for May 6, 2023, at Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace announced on Tuesday.

The new monarch will be crowned alongside the Queen Consort, Camilla.

King Charles took over from Queen Elizabeth II after her death last month, becoming the oldest monarch to assume the British throne at 73 years old.

Despite already becoming monarch, his coronation will mark a symbolic celebration of his new reign.

According to BBC, the coronation will be the first held on a Saturday since Edward VII in 1902.
