U.S. arrests nearly 205,000 illegal immigrants in October

Media reports on Monday indicates that the U.S. Border Patrol Agents arrested at least 205,000 immigrants trying to cross into the the country illegally last month, with more than 64,000 illegal immigrants escaping.

According to the data, on average, more than 2,000 illegal immigrants entered the U.S. every day in October evading Border Patrol Agents. The 205,000 arrests by the Border Patrol were the highest number ever recorded by the Department of Homeland Security for this time of year. It is reported that the number of illegal immigrants apprehended in October 2021 is 159,113, while the number of illegal immigrants apprehended in October 2020 is 69,032.

That figure does not include immigrants apprehended at ports of entry by the CBP Field Operations Office, meaning the actual total number of illegal immigrant apprehensions would be higher than 205,000.
