The International Atomic Energy Agency announced Wednesday that it will review the nuclear wastewater discharge plan of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in accordance with relevant international safety standards.
The task force will review the safety of the emissions plan from Nov. 14 to 18, mainly involving its technical preparations. The task force will meet with Japanese officials in Tokyo and travel to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant to review the progress of construction of the discharge facility.
Currently, IAEA experts are studying samples of seawater, marine sediments and fish near the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in Japan.
