Malian Prime minister Choguel Kokalla Maiga on Friday told junta leader Assimi Goita he was fit to resume office after three months of health leave, the presidency said.
Goita received Choguel Kokalla Maiga on Friday morning, the presidency said.
It was however not immediately clear how the junta leader had responded, or whether Maiga would return to his post.
Maiga, 64, suffered a stroke in August and was hospitalised.
He was temporarily replaced by Colonel Abdoulaye Maiga, government spokesman and minister of territorial administration.
"I am doing well... I came to greet him, thank him and tell him that I am holding up today and that I am fit to resume service," Maiga said in a video posted by the presidency on its Facebook page.
"In a few days, he will give his green light for us to resume work."
Most decisions in Mali are taken by a small circle of people dominated by the military, and outside the seat of government.
Choguel Kokalla Maiga was appointed head of government in June 2021 following the second coup in a year, which strengthened the military's grip on power.
He has been a key figure in Mali's public break-up with former ally France and its partners, as well as his country's military and political reorientation towards Russia.
