Three people died early Thursday in Casablanca, Morocco's economic hub, in a partial collapse of a house after heavy rain, official news agency MAP reported.
The house, located in the Smara district, was classified as a dwelling in danger of ruin, according to the local authorities of the Al-Fida-Mers Sultan prefecture.
One victim was removed from the rubble of a traditional oven on the first floor of the collapsed house.
Two others, who were residents of an adjacent house, died from their injuries shortly after they were transferred to a hospital.
Casablanca and many other Moroccan cities have witnessed persistent rainfall over the past 24 hours.
