Morocco announced Tuesday that its air traffic volume in January reached the pre-pandemic level.

Airports in Morocco recorded 1,981,294 travelers in January, up by 6 percent from that of the same period in 2019, and 15,726 aircraft movements, about 94 percent of January that year, the Moroccan Airports Authority said in a report.

The number of passengers taking a domestic flight was recorded at 201,340, about 91 percent of the same month in 2019.

The Casablanca International Airport, the biggest airport in the country, received more than 722,402 passengers in January, representing a 92-percent recovery from 2019.

In 2020, Morocco's airports hosted 7,150,277 passengers, down 71 percent from 2019.
