Namibia Football Association has named a 23-man squad ahead of the 2023 Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Cup that will be held in South Africa from July 5 to 16.
The Namibian squad mainly comprises locally based players, except for three players based in South Africa, five from Botswana, and one from Kosovo.
The 22nd edition of the annual competition organized by COSAFA will be held in South Africa for the sixth straight time.
Namibia is drawn in Group A alongside hosts South Africa, Botswana and Eswatini, and will face South Africa in its opening match on July 5 at the King Zwelithini Stadium.
Group B comprises defending champions Zambia, Malawi, Seychelles and Comoros, while Group C features Mozambique, Angola, Mauritius and Lesotho.
The 2023 COSAFA Cup is set to give vital game time for players and coaches from teams still in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and provide much-needed international exposure for those out of the running.
