China's women's table tennis team defended their title at Paris Olympics after crushing Japan 3-0 on Saturday. 

With the trio of Chen Meng, Sun Yingsha and Wang Manyu, China triumphed after a sequence of one doubles and two singles matches against Japan's Hina Hayata, Miwa Harimoto and Miu Hirano.

The victory marked China's fifth consecutive women's team title since the event was introduced at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

After winning the women's team gold, China completed a clean sweep of the Olympic gold medals in table tennis in Paris.

This gold medal also marked China's 300th gold medal in summer Olympic Games.
