The United States military announced Monday that it had completed its withdrawal from Niger, after the military leaders in the African country demanded the previous year that its troops depart.
"The U.S. Department of Defense and the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Niger announce that the withdrawal of U.S. forces and assets from Niger is complete," U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) said in a statement.
