Israel's military said on Tuesday it struck weapons storage facilities in Syria used by Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant group and political party.

The airstrikes targeted "weapons storage facilities used by Hezbollah's munitions unit in the area of Al-Qusayr in Syria," according to an Israeli military statement.

The Israeli military claimed the "munitions unit" has recently expanded its activities near Al-Qusayr, close to the Syria-Lebanon border.

Earlier on Tuesday, Syrian state television reported an Israeli airstrike had hit the industrial area of Al-Qusayr in central Syria's Homs province, causing material damage. State media said residential buildings near the industrial zone were also impacted, with no immediate reports of casualties.

Ramez Saadeh, head of the Al-Qusayr City Council, confirmed that the strike had damaged industrial facilities in the area but did not provide details on the extent of the damage. Saadeh said assessments were ongoing.

The strikes followed Israeli airstrikes a day earlier on a site used as Hezbollah's intelligence headquarters in Damascus.

Israeli military strikes in Syria have increased recently, mainly targeting what Israel says are arms shipments and military infrastructure associated with Iran and Hezbollah, its regional adversaries.
