The Round of 16 fixtures for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) have been confirmed following the conclusion of the group stage on Wednesday evening. The knockout matches will take place between January 3 and January 6 across eight venues.

Defending champions Côte d'Ivoire, who finished top of Group F, will face Group E runners-up Burkina Faso at the Marrakesh Stadium. Burkina Faso secured second place with a victory over Sudan, who also progressed to the knockout stage as one of the four best third-placed teams.

Both teams had already guaranteed qualification behind group winners Algeria before their final group match in Casablanca.

Cameroon, who finished second in Group F, will take on Group B runners-up South Africa at Al Medina Stadium. The Indomitable Lions face a tough challenge against Bafana Bafana and have landed on the more challenging side of the draw after holders Côte d'Ivoire clinched top spot with a dramatic 91st-minute winner in their 3–2 victory over Gabon.

Tournament hosts Morocco will face Tanzania's Taifa Stars at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium. The Atlas Lions topped Group A ahead of Mali after a comfortable 3–0 win over Zambia.

Record champions Egypt will lock horns with Benin at the Adrar Stadium. The Pharaohs topped Group B, while Benin finished third in Group D.

Group D winners Senegal will face Sudan, who finished third in Group E, at the Tangier Grand Stadium.

Mozambique, one of the four best third-placed teams, will make their first-ever appearance in the knockout stage against Nigeria. The Super Eagles edged Tunisia 3–2 in a thrilling group match, and the Round of 16 encounter will be played in Fes on Monday.

DR Congo’s 3–0 win over Botswana set up a clash against Algeria.
