Japan on Saturday defeated China 4–0 in the final of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup, held at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

China reached the final after an emphatic 3–0 victory over Vietnam, who went on to claim the bronze medal.

Japan, meanwhile, beat South Korea 1–0 in the semifinals.

China, known as the Dragons, entered the match with a strong defensive structure, but Japan proved too clinical in the end.

A brace from Kosei Ogura, along with goals by Yuto Ozeki and Ryunosuke Sato, sealed the victory for Japan.
