The V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, South Africa marked the Chinese New Year with celebrations featuring traditional lion and dragon dances, as well as cultural performances. The event brought together locals and visitors to welcome the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Fire Horse.

Organized by the Chinese community in Cape Town in collaboration with cultural and community partners, the Cape Town Chinese New Year Gala once again demonstrated the power of culture to connect people across backgrounds. The event highlighted the long-standing friendship between the Chinese and South African communities and reinforced Cape Town's reputation as a truly global, multicultural city. The program reflected the essence of the Chinese New Year — honoring tradition while embracing new beginnings — and showcased how cultural heritage, when shared openly, can strengthen mutual understanding and respect.

The promotional film of the Spring Festival Gala of the Year of the Horse of the CMG was also shown. The promotional film combines the traditional New Year with the beauty of modern light and shadow.

Taking culture as a bridge, it adds a strong New Year's atmosphere to the event site.
