Sudan has condemned Uganda for hosting Rapid Support Forces (RSF) commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo at a meeting with President Yoweri Museveni.

In a statement issued Sunday, Sudan's Foreign Ministry described the reception as an "unprecedented" move that it said insults both the Sudanese people and humanity at large. Khartoum accused Dagalo and his forces of committing widespread atrocities since the outbreak of the conflict, including killings and other serious violations documented by the international community.

The ministry said Uganda's decision disregards the suffering of Sudanese civilians and contravenes the obligations of regional bodies such as the African Union and IGAD, which have condemned the violence in Sudan.

While acknowledging Uganda's sovereign right to conduct its foreign relations and host whomever it chooses, Sudan expressed "deep concern" that the move could signal a shift in Kampala's policy toward the conflict. Khartoum urged Uganda to distance itself from the RSF leader and not allow its territory to be used in ways that could fuel further violence.

President Museveni received Dagalo at the State House in Entebbe on Friday, marking the RSF commander's first public appearance in months.
