Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud have urged all parties to uphold the Gaza ceasefire and push ahead with efforts to advance a US-supported peace plan, Egypt's presidency said.
The meeting comes amid heightened concerns that escalating tensions, particularly involving Iran, could widen the regional conflict.
Both leaders stressed the urgency of ensuring uninterrupted humanitarian access to Gaza and accelerating reconstruction efforts. They reiterated their firm rejection of any forced displacement of Palestinians and maintained that a negotiated settlement based on a two-state framework remains the only sustainable solution.
Discussions also addressed broader regional and international developments. Both leaders emphasized de-escalation, dialogue and stronger Arab coordination, while reaffirming respect for national sovereignty and non-interference.
According to Egypt's presidential spokesperson, Sisi thanked Saudi Arabia for its hospitality, conveyed greetings to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and congratulated the kingdom on its Founding Day.
On bilateral ties, Sisi called for expanded cooperation between Cairo and Riyadh, while Prince Mohammed bin Salman described relations as "pivotal" and pledged to deepen coordination across multiple sectors.
The two sides agreed to maintain close political coordination in support of regional stability.
