The United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced it will resume limited flight operations at Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports starting Monday evening.

The suspension of flights was implemented after Iran launched retaliatory strikes on several targets across the Gulf.

Iran's attacks targeted airports in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, following strikes by Israel and the United States on Iran over the weekend. In response, the UAE temporarily closed its airspace as a precautionary safety measure.

Dubai's main airport (DXB) ranks as the second-busiest worldwide.

Major airlines such as Emirates, Etihad Airways, and flydubai confirmed they would resume limited flight services, marking the first step in a gradual return to normal operations. However, regular commercial flights remain canceled until further notice.

Thousands of passengers have been stranded worldwide since the strikes began, as airlines sought to reroute around the Middle East, where many countries had closed their airspace.

The decision to resume limited services reflects efforts to ensure air travel can continue safely while minimizing risks amid regional tensions.
