The rapid increase in food prices in landlocked Lesotho leads IT wizard Mochesane Mpali to pioneer a novel way of farming in his hometown of Maseru, allowing urban inhabitants and farmers to raise food without the use of soil or arable land. This alternative farming approach, known as hydroponic farming, has the potential to reduce food insecurity in an era of severe climate-related issues, as well as the looming concern of limited market access for small-scale farmers due to larger agribusiness operations.
