Ugandan police on Thursday confirmed the deaths of four children in a stabbing incident at a nursery school in the capital, Kampala.
According to the police, the attack took place at Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program School, where a suspect allegedly stabbed several toddlers. Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Rachael Kawala confirmed that a man identified as Okello Christopher Onyu was apprehended following the incident.
Kawala said the suspect had visited the school two days earlier to inquire about enrolling his child and was asked to return later. “He reportedly paid the admission fee and, shortly afterward, began stabbing the children,” she said.
