Kenya and Egypt are set to compete for continental supremacy on Friday after both teams advanced to the final of the 2026 CAVB Women’s African Nations Volleyball Championship in Nairobi.

The hosts, Kenya, who are the defending champions, triumphed over Cameroon with a decisive 3–0 victory in Thursday’s semifinal, winning the sets 25–19, 25–20, and 25–20. Egypt also displayed dominance by defeating Rwanda 3–0 to secure their spot in the gold-medal match.

Both finalists have already earned two of Africa’s three qualification spots for the 2027 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Cup. The final World Cup ticket will be awarded to the winner of the bronze-medal match between Cameroon and Rwanda.

However, the most significant prize is still on the line. The Kenya-Egypt showdown on Friday will also determine Africa’s sole representative in women’s volleyball at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
