EgyptAir has suspended flights from Cairo and Alexandria to Riyadh following the temporary closure of King Khalid International Airport, citing the current situation.

The airline said it was coordinating with Saudi civil aviation authorities and would resume flights once operations at the airport restart.

Passengers with confirmed bookings on affected flights can change their itineraries to another direct destination in Saudi Arabia on EgyptAir flights without paying change fees or fare differences.

Those opting to cancel their bookings are eligible for refunds without cancellation fees, subject to the airline's applicable procedures.

EgyptAir said its integrated operations center was monitoring developments around the clock and that further updates would be issued as more information became available.

The incident marks the latest attack on Saudi airports amid escalating missile strikes by Yemen's Houthi group.

The airport had already been targeted in two attacks last week that killed four people, one Sudanese resident and three Saudis, and injured several others.

No group immediately claimed responsibility for Saturday's attack.
