Algeria presidency announces election on July 4

Algeria's presidency has announced that the country's elections will take place on July 4, according to state media.

The announcement on Wednesday came a day after Abdelkader Bensalah was appointed as interim president for 90 days, replacing long-time leader Abdelaziz Bouteflika who stepped down last week after weeks of mass protests against him.
