UN chief condemns Sri Lanka attacks

The United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has condoled with the families of the victims of Sunday's multiple Sri Lanka attacks.
In a statement issued by his Spokesperson, the UN chief expressed his “deepest condolences to the families of the victims, the people and Government of Sri Lanka, and wishes a speedy recovery to the injured”.
Guterres also commended “the leadership demonstrated by the authorities and unity of the people in Sri Lanka in the wake of the attacks”
Sunday's explosions occurred in and around the capital, Colombo, killing at least 215 people and injuring over 450 others.
The explosions came as Christians worldwide celebrated Easter Sunday, one of the most important events in the Christian calendar.
Following the blasts, the Sri Lankan government has declared a 6PM to 6AM curfew in the country with immediate effect.
Police have so far arrested seven people in connection with the blasts.
Two Chinese nationals are reported to have been killed in the blasts.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
