Following the approval by parliament, the construction of a modern cultural center funded by China has kicked off in Tunis.
The center, once completed, will become one of the most modern Chinese projects in North Africa.
It will offer several services like sporting and cultural activities as well as teaching Mandarin to the residents of Tunis.
The center will also serve as a symbol of friendship between China and Tunisia.
Following the commissioning of the construction of the center, Chinese Ambassador to Tunisia Wang Wenbin reiterated his country's readiness to continue cooperating with Tunisia in various fields.
“China is committed to continue supporting Tunisia and to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, tourism, higher education and culture,” Ambassador Wang said.
On his part, the mayor of Ben Arous, Mohamed Mzoughi thanked China for the facility and also expressed the Tunisian people's gratitude for the same.
“Men, women, children and the elderly people are happy because the new facilities will offer many services including sporting and cultural activities. China's help and support is endless,” Mzoughi said.
