Rwanda has waived visa requirements for Cote d'Ivoire citizens seeking to visit the East African country.
The visa waiver was approved in an extraordinary cabinet meeting chaired by President Paul Kagame on Friday in Kigali.
The deal to exempt Cote d'Ivoire citizens from visa requirements to visit Rwanda was struck during President Kagame's visit to Abidjan in December 2018.
President Kagame and his host President Alassane Ouattara signed a raft of agreements aimed at strengthening ties between their two nations.
Friday's extraordinary cabinet meeting also approved various policies and programs, including a national employment policy, a revised national environment and climate change policy, a revised national land policy, a national skills development and employment promotion strategy, among others.
Rwanda and Cote d'Ivoire enjoy cordial diplomatic relations stretching decades back.
The strong ties have seen President Kagame visit Cote d'Ivoire twice under President Ouattara's tenure.
President Ouattara on his part visited Kigali in April 2018.
