Shen delivered a keynote speech at the event, calling upon Asian media organizations to strengthen their cooperation in order to adapt to the changing global landscape.

He further called on Asia's media organizations to develop long-term plans that identify opportunities for strategic partnerships. He said the plans should be able to encourage the development of activities such as regional media forums and exchanges between young journalists.

He also emphasized on the importance of innovation, calling upon Asian media organizations to prioritize it to continue churning better content. In particular, he noted that the digital media has become an important aspect of media organizations worldwide.

Shen also called on the region's media organizations to further step up their efforts to deepen and expand their cooperation to bring together the different peoples of the region.

He hailed China's achievements in its 40 years of reform and development, saying they were inseparable from the mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation between Asian countries and even the world.

The Media executive also pointed out that in order to adapt to the continuous changes in the global pattern and build a new era of European and Asian media space, Asian media cooperation in the context of the new era can be promoted from three aspects: First, formulate cooperation rules and enhance the level of media strategic cooperation. Second, persist in innovation and deepen new media cooperation. Third, promote cooperation and spread, and form a joint force for communication.

The Eastern Economic Forum is a platform for communication and consultation established by Russia's President Vladimir Putin in 2015. Held every year, it aims to push for the economic development of the Far East and expand cooperation in the Asia- Pacific region. The “Asian News Picture under the Political and Economic Reform”  forum was focused on providing Asian media organizations with a more prominent voice in discussions about important events in the region and on the world stage.

On 11th September, Shen, on behalf of China Media Group, signed an international strategic cooperation agreement with Russia's Rossiya Segodnya news agency (Sputnik International), in a ceremony witnessed by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Vladivostok, Russia.
